Erotic photography:
I have created this page on my website specifically for prospective models to see examples of my erotic photography and to answer common questions.
Q: What exactly do you mean by “erotic photography”?
A: Here’s the best definition I’ve been able to come up with: erotic photography is photography that is intended to provoke erotic desire. It speaks to the fantasies and imagination of the viewer while still respecting both the model and the art of photography with regards to lighting, composition, and story. The photographs may depict sexual acts or situations. The photographs may or may not be explicit, but even if they are explicit, they are still made with the intent to create art, and not as generic masturbatory aides.
Q: What’s the difference between erotic photography and porn?
A: Erotic photography considers lighting, composition, and story. Porn, generally, does not, and is often just a description of body parts or sexual acts. That said, I do not judge porn to be bad or wrong. I think it’s valid and adults should be free to enjoy it for what it is. I also acknowledge that the line between erotic photography and porn is often blurred and not easily defined. One person may judge my photography to be art, while another may judge it to be obscene.
Q: What is the goal of your erotic photography?
A: I want to make photos that allow the viewer close to the subject, photos that stimulate and provoke and sometimes deny and frustrate the viewer; photos that tell a story and photos that, at their best, elevate the subject matter, images that turn sex and sexual expression itself into art, and I want to do all of that while respecting the art of photography as well as the people involved in making it.
